What is about what VBC does that excites you?

I am excited about VBC’s willingness to investigate new technology. Modular construction is high tech. It is nice to see a modular construction company that is embracing the new technology and working to implement it.

What did you do in your career prior to this and how did it lead you to VBC?

I was the modular design manager at neUdesign Architecture and before that the engineering manager at Guerdon Modular Buildings. I learned a lot at these 2 companies, and it prepared me for VBC

How did your relationship with VBC happen?

Long story. My wife and I had a conversation on June 10 this year about wanting to possibly move. She had suggested that we look at the Charlotte area. We both have family out here and were looking to get to a more humid and minder winter climate. On June 11 my boss asked me if I could go to North Carolina for him on the 18th as he was heading Los Angeles that week. I thought “what an odd coincidence.” From the minute that I stepped off of the plane, I knew this is where I wanted to be. I let my wife know how nice it is here and that she would love it too. She told me that all I needed to do is find a job. The next day I went to the meeting at VBC and made sure to mention that I would be willing to relocate. Now, here I am, happy with the way things went.

What do you see the future bringing for the business and industry?

Automation!
